SOURIAU has obtained K2 qualification of 8N45S Series nuclear grade connectors. Compliant with RCC-E 2005 design and manufacturing standard, these new connectors integrate a screen termination mechanism that ensures perfect continuity and high shielding performances.

Souriau introduces the first Quadrax-contact connectors on the market intended for railway applications. Invented and patented by Souriau in the 2000s for the aircraft industry and generating sales of several tens of thousands, the Ethernet Quadrax contact is a high-speed contact with high reliability, very easy to use. With 7 dedicated ranges and some hundred different layouts intended for onboard or trackside applications, Souriau offers the most complete range for railways. Several thousand Quadrax contacts have already been sold to the SNCF and to Alstom for new rolling stock or for upgrading.

SOURIAU announces the availability of hermetically sealed connectors with aluminium and titanium bodies and copper alloy contacts, using a unique ceramic-to –metal sealing process developed by its subsidiary Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PA&E). SOURIAU thus enhances its offer by providing a very wide range of lightweight hermetically sealed circular connectors, with weight savings of up to 60%, and including the only hermetically sealed optical fiber connector in the world. This connector line is primarily designed for onboard aeronautical and space applications.

Souriau is extending its range of engine connectors to meet electrical power demands up to 80 A continuous rating in an external environment at 260 °C, with a 20% gain in compactness. The use of “ all electric” on aircraft to replace hydraulic, mechanical or pneumatic energy is attracting increasing attention. Reliability and safety are increased, while costs are reduced, thanks among other factors to a weight saving which directly impacts fuel consumption. That is why Airbus, for example, has replaced one of the three flight control hydraulic systems of the A380 with an hydro-electrical network.

The latest addition to the SOURIAU UTS range is a sealed plastic open face connector for printed circuit boards. It is the only one on the market to provide IP68 and IP69K ingress protection ratings, even when it is unmated. The UTS Hi seal PCB versionis intended particularly for electronics applications subjected to wide temperature variations, generating condensation, and to submerged environments: instrumentation in humid environments, outdoor light fixtures, road signs, off-road vehicles, wastewater treatment stations, etc.
